Mornings at the Refuge Center

june 9

In the mornings Angel leads the kids at the Refuge Center in devotions, and later teaches those who aren’t in school elementary lessons in English, reading and spelling.  On one of the days we came it happened to be a holiday for the older kids, so we joined her as she led Maurine and Morris in learning the numbers 1 to 5 in English, and Richard, Junior, Jamela, Brian and Sunday in spelling short words.

Sunday is a very intelligent little boy. He was pleased to show off his writing and practice speaking English while we were with him.

I’m not sure if those kids had ever played “ring around the roses” before, but their eyes sure lit up the moment I grabbed their hands, spun them around and hummed the tune.

A church in the States sent a gift to purchase new farming supplies for the Center.

  1. We just love what God is doing at the Women’s Refuge Center. It reflects and displays the love and grace God shows each of us and the tender ways He takes care of us. Through this program I see the hand of God fulfilling the promise Christ gave to us in John 10:10…He has come to give us life, and life more abundantly! Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures of these precious people! Please give Maurice, Jamela, Grace, Carolyn, Angel and everyone else there a hug from us and our love. We miss them and can’t wait to see them again one day soon, face to face! May God’s blessings continue to pour out upon you sweet Hannah and may His light keep shining brightly through you ❤ You are in our prayers!! Love, the Payton family
