Packed with Bible lessons, field games, counseling sessions, crafts, lots of tasty food and good fellowship, “Center Week” was such a huge hit for the kids enrolled in our CDP!
Thank you to all who prayed for the activities and children! Each day was centered on Jesus and the nurturing of our children’s hearts. We hope and pray that they grew in faith and consider it the best part of their holiday!
Monday we had a great kickoff! I wish all of you could have been there to experience it!
Things didn’t go completely according to plan, beginning when Grace had to return home for health reasons, and certainly not ending when we got to the kitchen only to realize that there weren’t enough ingredients purchased to prepare our morning meal. Yet those things just reminded us of God’s control over everything and unique sense of humor. Benson and Patrick taught great Bible lessons on Salt and Light and on King David’s life. They also directed several exciting games, like a blindfolded listening activity and freeze game. We concluded the day with counseling on hygiene and Biblical purity, and introduced the children to 3 news songs to sing at the memorial service honoring Myron West (which was yesterday).
The kids arrived earlier on Tuesday, hopefully because they had so much fun the day before 😉 The pictures I’ve taken of these kids laughing and listening speak volumes of what the Lord can do to change lives! I hope you enjoy seeing them!
- Vicky and Jaqueline are back from their CEF training in town!!! Hugging those girls at church yesterday made my heart happy! Their countenance was simply radiant! I could tell that God taught them much from the training, and I can’t wait to sit them down this week and hear details!
- Cooper, baby Sandra and I have all recovered from our different illnesses. Many thanks to those of you who personally emailed me to tell me you were praying. It’s one of the most comforting things to have the body of Christ wrap their arms around you, even when you’re thousands of miles apart!
- The West’s and Payton’s are settling in well at AH. This was their first day back to homeschool!
